I believe in God, the Father Almighty…
Our Father God is Almighty – the all-powerful One. There is nothing God can’t do. No circumstance is outside his control.
God revealed a new name to Abraham in Genesis 1, “I am God Almighty.” This name is El Shaddai in Hebrew – the all-sufficient One. Even though Abraham and Sarah were well beyond their childbearing years, God was still able to keep his promise and give them a son.
Does it feel like everything in your life is out of control? Rest assured, God has everything under his control. There may be lessons for us to learn, or he may use our circumstances to help another. But in the light of eternity, God will restore and make right every situation.
Many find comfort in the 91st Psalm which begins, “Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.” (Psalm 91:1 NLT)
God’s Word is full of promises to protect those who love him. “The Lord says, ‘I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble, I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.'” (Psalm 91:14-16 NLT) Only a God who is in control of everything can make these promises.
1 Chronicles 29:12 tells us, “Wealth and honor come from you alone, for you rule over everything. Power and might are in your hand, and at your discretion people are made great and given strength.” (NLT)
