Creator of Heaven and Earth;
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. It doesn’t really matter what translation of the Bible you are using, this verse reads word for word the same in almost all of them.
God is the beginning, and the Creator of everything that was made. Sadly there are many who can’t accept this – who want to believe that everything just happened by chance over millions of years. But that is not what the Bible teaches. And science has yet to disprove God, they can only dismiss him from their minds. But God doesn’t go away, nor does his creation. And the assumptions scientists use to explain away creation by God are only that – assumptions. They cannot be proven.
I could go on and on about this as the creation is one of my favorite topics. I challenge you to look at the sequence of the events of creation in Genesis 1 and discover how scientific they actually are – something “cavemen” would never have dreamed up around a campfire… Light. Water. Land & vegetation. Sun, moon & stars (seasons). Ocean life & birds. Land animals & people.
Psalm 102:25 tells us, “Long ago you laid the foundation of the earth and made the heavens with your hands.” There are those who might nit-pick over the wording since much of Genesis has God “speaking” things into existence. However, these passages come to us in poetic form, which generally allows a little poetic license – especially when they are describing that which is greater than our finite minds can comprehend anyway. Let God be God, and give us what our minds can grasp, and let it go at that.
You are a part of God’s great creation. Read Psalm 139:13 “You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.”
Nehemiah 9:6 declares, “You alone are the Lord. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you.”
