Week 2 – Job 17-39
How did your first week of Bible reading go this year? Were you surprised to find Job in the middle of Genesis? That’s the joy of reading the Bible in chronological order – we will get a better grasp on when things happened and how the books of the Bible tie together. This week we will stay in Job all week. You may discover that Job’s patience is better on some days than others.

Brief overview of the passages for this week:
The dialog continues between Job’s friends-turned-accusers and Job as he insists upon his innocence. Job speaks at length about wisdom in chapter 28. God enters the dialog in Chapters 38-40 and Job responds. (to be continued in week 3)
Suggestions for things to look for:
- Examples of the power or strategies of Satan in Job’s situation as well as today.
- How not to “encourage” a friend who is suffering.
- Ways God uses suffering, then and now.
