Is it too late to start reading? Tips for catching up
“Oh, I wish I had seen this earlier! Now I’m so far behind . . .” Is this your lament?
It is never too late to get started on your Bible reading adventure. This reading goal is between you and God. If getting “caught up” is important to you, here are a few suggestions.
- Don’t expect to get caught up overnight. Set a pace that will work for you. Read at least one day’s reading (usually three chapters) every day and read one to three more chapters as you can.
- Try listening to the Bible to get caught up faster.
- You might bypass Job for now and continue reading in Genesis. You could listen to Job or read a couple of chapters of Job a day while you concentrate on catching up in Genesis. (This applies only if you are reading the Bible in chronological order.)

Keep in mind that the most important thing is to keep reading, whether you get “caught up” or not. You may find you get more out of your reading by taking it at a slower pace anyway. These posts will still be here to aid you when you are ready for them. They are only guides. The Holy Spirit is your teacher.
