Brief overview of the passages for this week:
God took Elijah up into heaven.
Elisha received the Holy Spirit as it had been on Elijah and became the next prophet in his place.
God spoke to the kings of Israel, Judah, and Edom through Elisha. He performed many miracles.
Naaman came to Elisha who healed him of leprosy.
Elisha anointed Jehu king of Israel.
Many kings ruled over the two kingdoms (see lists below)
God continued to warn his people that they could stay in the land if they obeyed him, but if they continued to disobey him he would send them out of the land.
Jonah first ran from God before obeying him. He finally warned Nineveh and the people repented. When God spared the city Jonah sulked.
