Brief overview of the passages for this week:
Isaiah 13-30
- God was angry with Israel and with Israel’s enemies. He told how he would destroy each of them
- At some point in the future God would destroy all forces of evil and set up his own Kingdom on earth.
Kings 18 and Chronicles 29-31
King Hezekiah reigns in Judah and serves God wholeheartedly. He stands up against the king of Assyria.
Hosea
God tells Hosea to take a wife who would be unfaithful to him. God uses this faulted marriage to illustrate his faithfulness to unfaithful Israel.
