Brief overview of the passages for this week:
Jeremiah received his call from God as his spokesman to the world.
Jeremiah is known as the weeping prophet
The events recorded in Jeremiah are not fully in chronological order. They were written when Jeremiah was older and God told him to write down all of the events on a scroll. Jeremiah then with the help of his assistant began writing his messages on a long scroll. They may well have written them down as they came to Jeremiah’s mind instead of a strict chronological order.
Jeremiah began his ministry as God’s spokesman when Josiah reigned as king. He spoke out for God for over forty years.
Most of the messages God sent through Jeremiah were for Judah, but he also delivered messages to other nations as well.
