Habakkuk
- Habakkuk has two questions for God
- Why hasn’t God punished the people of Judah for their wickedness?
- Why would God let the wicked Babylonians have victory over Judah?
- Habakkuk praised God.
Jeremiah
- Gedaliah, the governor of Judah who was appointed by King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon, was murdered by Ishmael, a member of the royal family. Johanan and other guerrilla leaders disapproved and stopped Ishmael from further conquests.
- The people with Johanan flee to Egypt ignoring Jeremiah’s message to them from God.
- God gives messages of warning for Jeremiah to give to Egypt, Philistia, Moab, Ammon, Edom, Damascus, Kedar, Hazor, Elam, and Babylon.
- God gives Jeremiah messages of hope to give to Israel and Judah.
Lamentations
Words of sorrow over the fall of Jerusalem, the book of Lamentations was probably written by Jeremiah.
