1 Thessalonians
Paul wrote to the Thessalonians while he was in Corinth to encourage them. He wrote about the second coming of Christ.
2 Thessalonians
Paul wrote a second letter while still in Corinth giving more encouragement and answering some of the people’s questions.
1 Corinthians 1-14
- Paul sends greetings and praises God for the believers in Corinth.
- Paul addresses problems stemming from divisions in the church.
- Paul discusses the wisdom of God.
- Paul tells people to put their confidence in Christ, not in people. Christ is their foundation.
- Paul condemns arrogance and pride.
- Paul teaches to avoid lawsuits among believers and to avoid sexual sin.
- Paul teaches about marriage.
- Paul gives instructions about eating food that had been sacrificed to idols.
- Paul reminds them of the evils of idol worship
- Paul gives instructions on the proper approach to public worship and communion
- Paul teaches about spiritual gifts, and the body of Christ.
