…and [Jesus] will come again…

and will come again

After the Disciples watched Jesus ascend into heaven, two men dressed in white robes (angels?) appeared to them and told them that Jesus would come again the same way he left. See Acts 1:9-11.

As they recalled the things Jesus had told them, they began to understand what had only confused them Before. Prior to his crucifixion he had told them he was going to leave and prepare a place for them. See John 14:1-3. Continue reading

…[Jesus Christ] is seated at the right hand of the Father, …

Is seated at the right hand of the Father

What does that mean? …seated at the right hand of the Father. Two things come to mind for me:

Jesus is the most highly exalted being in all the heavens and earth. The Father God of the universe has reserved the throne to his right just for him. See Ephesians 1:20 and Philippians 2:5-11.

And what does that mean for us? Continue reading

…he [Jesus] ascended into heaven..

he ascended into heaven

Jesus appeared to many people after he rose from the dead. He ate with them and helped them to understand how from the beginning the scriptures had prophesied not only his coming, but that he had to suffer and die.

He also told his Disciples to wait until he sent his power to them through the Holy Spirit before going back out into the world to share the message of Christ. Then 40 days after he rose from the dead, he ascended into heaven as many of his disciples watched. Continue reading

On the third day he [Jesus] rose again;

On third day he rose againOh what a glorious Sunday morning! What a new day! An angel came down from heaven and rolled the stone away from the tomb. The angel didn’t open the tomb to let Jesus out, however. The stone was rolled away so the world know that Jesus Christ had risen from the dead. Death could not keep Jesus in the grave!

Beginning with Mary Magdalene, Jesus appeared to many of his followers including the remaining eleven of the Twelve Disciples as word spread that he was alive. The news threw the world into confusion.

The guards who were on duty to guard the tomb were bribed into saying that they fell asleep and that the Disciples stole Jesus’ body while they were asleep. Under normal circumstances they would have been killed for falling asleep and failing to properly guard the tomb.

According to the author Mark who also wrote the book of Acts, Jesus  appeared to people and taught them for 40 more days. He also ate with them revealing that his body was real. (Acts 1:1-3)

Read the following passages for more information about Jesus resurrection and his activities in these final days on earth.
