…and [Jesus] will come again…
After the Disciples watched Jesus ascend into heaven, two men dressed in white robes (angels?) appeared to them and told them that Jesus would come again the same way he left. See Acts 1:9-11.
As they recalled the things Jesus had told them, they began to understand what had only confused them Before. Prior to his crucifixion he had told them he was going to leave and prepare a place for them. See John 14:1-3.
Jesus also told them they would see him seated at God’s right hand and coming in the clouds. He also told them not to believe it if someone told them they saw him in one place or another because everyone would see him at once like lightning that flashes across the sky. See Matthew 26:64 and Matthew 24:26-27. The Disciples wanted to know when Jesus was coming again, but Jesus said that only the Father knew the day or the time. See Matthew 24:36.
Jesus is coming back to bring his wonderful salvation to those who are eagerly waiting for him. Hebrews 9:28 But not everyone will think it is wonderful. Many people and nations will morn on that day. See Revelation 1:7.
