Those who began the “5x5x5 New Testament Bible Reading Plan” by Navigators in January will begin reading the book of Revelation on about December 1.

The book of Revelation was written by the apostle John when he was exiled to the island of Patmos for continuing to proclaim the Gospel message after the Roman Emperor Caesar demanded his subjects to worship himself and not Christ.

I acknowledge that I could not summarize this challenging book without plagiarizing myself, so I will not attempt it. I have discovered a great website with wonderful overviews of all the books of the Bible. Here is the video overview of Revelation from the BibleProject.com website:

Those who began the “5x5x5 New Testament Bible Reading Plan” by Navigators in January will read the book of Jude on about November 30.

Jude’s letter is short and to the point. He tells of multiple instances from the Old Testament of ungodly people who met their doom because of their sins. Then he calls Christians to persevere in spite of the scoffers and their perversions. He calls on believers to look to Christ, the only one who can preserve us and keep us from falling.

2 Peter

The apostle Peter wrote 2 Peter to teach Christians to identify and respond to false teachers from inside the church. It also addresses the importance of personal spiritual growth, and the assurance that Christ Jesus will return.

2 Thessalonians

Those who began the “5x5x5 New Testament Bible Reading Plan” by Navigators in January will begin reading the book of 2 Thessalonians on about November 22.

A little background for the church in Thessalonica can be found in Acts 16:1-17:15.

Paul’s second letter to the church in Thesselonica encourages the believers as their persecutors continue to oppose them. Paul gives them insights to counter false teaching that Christ had already returned. Paul also warns the Thesselonians against idleness.
