The Apostles Creed jumps directly from Jesus’ birth to the trial and persecution by Pontius Pilate leading to his crucifixion, death and resurrection. This blog will address Christ’s teaching more fully in later posts following this series on the Creed.

When we hear the word “lord” today, we tend to naturally associate it with Jesus. But in Bible times, the word “lord” was also a term for a person in high authority who had absolute control over others. If we say and sincerely mean that Jesus is our Lord, we say we yield to and acknowledge his complete and total rule over our lives.
