Those who began the “5x5x5 New Testament Bible Reading Plan” by Navigators in January will begin reading the book of Galatians on about March 23.
Paul wrote this letter to the churches in Galatia. A major concern is to address the false teachings of Judaism demanding Gentiles to also follow all the customs of the Jewish people including circumcision.
A well known passage is Galatians 5:22-23 which describes the fruits of the Spirit.

The author of this book is not certain. Many have believed Paul wrote it, but Bible scholars generally agree it wasn’t Paul, but another well known saint from that period of time, perhaps Barnabus or Apollas. This letter is addressed to the Hebrews (Jews) who converted to Christianity and were being tempted to turn away from the faith.

The book of Acts was written by the same author as the book of Luke. It follows the apostles, the Twelve Disciples and later the Apostle Paul. It gives us a window into the life of the developing church of Believers, soon to be called Christians. Paul’s missionary journeys appear in Acts.

Read Mark 11:12-26. Jesus was hungry. He went to a fig tree he saw from a distance. It had leaves but no figs. It wasn’t the season for figs. Yet Jesus cursed the fig tree for not having any fruit.
We don’t know if Jesus might have commanded it to produce fruit and it refused—likely just far-fetched speculation or the passage would have said this. A more feasible explanation is that in the spring, figs often appear ahead of the leaves, perhaps giving the impression that there would be figs on the tree.
Immediately following this incident Jesus confronted the marketeers and money changers turning over their tables and not allowing any merchandise inside the temple, after which the chief priests and teachers of the law began looking for a way to kill Jesus.
